Holt AV began in 1950 as Audio/Visual Film Service. In 1964, the company was purchased by Howard Holt. During this time, the company saw rapid growth and in 1974 the company moved to its current location on the Southside of Birmingham, Alabama. Holt AV served many customers in its early days including the Southeastern Conference by managing and maintaining the conference’s film library. The company also sold various audio visual products to local schools and Universities.
By 1999 the company’s name had changed to Holt AV/ Video and the company began serving a large customer base throughout Alabama. As the company grew, it was eventually purchased by Howard’s two sons, Michael and Patrick Holt. This period also resulted in the company focusing on providing custom designed permanent and temporary display solutions for its customers. Holt AV /Video discovered that what its customers really needed was a company to handle the end to end intricacies of state-of-the-art presentation technology. This understanding of the needs of its customers allowed Holt AV to develop experience with video and teleconferencing, event production, integrated system design, and AV system management.
